The story of a boy who realized his dream of becoming an astronomer … based on a true fact! The sky belongs to all of us and it fascinates both children and adults. Unfortunately, however, in many parts of the world the sky is not just illuminated by stars but also by explosions during airstrikes. This book tells the story of Sami, a boy who began to observe the sky as a child, in time of war. Set in the Middle East, it is inspired by a true event which took place in the Gaza Strip, where a group of children died as they were gazing at the stars with a telescope. A book full of poetry on the intercultural character of astronomy, on the importance to have passions as passions can warm the hearts and save lives, a book on the impossibility of growing up in a serene way in time of war. Text by the 2013 winner of the Italian Andersen Award for her contribution to the popularization of science. Wonderful illustrations by Kurdish artist Fuad Aziz.
